Our healing is a gift to the collective, to The Divine. So this lightening practice is a gift in so many ways. The reason we do this practice on the Full Moon or the Dark of the Moon is because we want to get in sync with the energy of those times. Those windows give us an opportunity to do deep cleansing. So we get into alignment with the planetary alignments to increase the impact of our practice.

Such a beautiful aspect of this Savasana practice is that we bring the Earth elements into it—for more supportiveness. And also, to deepen our gratitude and our relationship with Mother Earth.

I know the guilt trip of thinking we need to be productive all of the time. I know that we often use our spiritual practices as ways to push ourselves instead of to connect with ourselves. So, lying on the floor and breathing with intention can seem like a tall order for many of us.

HOW THIS HELPS
Savasana is also known as “corpse pose” in yoga, and as you probably know, it is done lying on your back, eyes closed in total relaxation. Ahhh… mmm… yesss.

It’s obviously a resting pose. It’s also about integrating the merits—the benefits, of all of the work we’ve done in a yoga session. We move to stillness for the growth to really root, for the fresh energy to seep into our energy bodies.
